Using EFT to Manifest Your Intentions

We have a lot of tools for manifesting what we want in life. However, sometimes they seem to be at odds with each other.

The Law of Attractions says to focus on the positive, visualize what you want, picture the feeling of having what you want, and act as if what you want is already in your life. EFT, on the other hand, focuses on the ‘negative’ and the feelings you haven’t let yourself feel in order to clear negative energy patterns that may be holding you back from getting what you want.

They seem to be opposites. But are they really? What if combining them amplified the power of each of them so that you could get what you want even more quickly and easily?

That is what happens and that is why I use EFT to clear any blocks I have to getting what I want while also focusing on the desired results. I do it with a combination of intentions and tapping.

Intentions align you with the energy and desires of your soul. An intention is any goal, purpose or aim that you might have. It is a commitment to a goal that you are determined to achieve or an action you are determined to carry out.

The cool thing is that when we set an intention, everything not in alignment with that intention comes forward to be healed. For example, if you set an intention to lose weight, you will have to heal your craving for doughnuts before you fit into your skinny jeans. Or if you set an intention to jump off the high dive, you will have to heal your fear of heights before you experience the rush of falling and the cool splash at the finish.

Here is how I use EFT and the Law of Attraction to manifest my intentions. I’ll illustrate it with an example and then walk you through the process so you can apply it to any situation in your life. I first hit on this powerful combination when I was traveling from California to North Carolina for a conference.

When I arrived at the airport, I was running 30 minutes late. Oh, crap! If I missed my first plane, I would miss my connection in Chicago and I wouldn’t arrive until after the conference had started the next day.

My intention is to be in North Carolina tonight, I silently declared to myself! I usually travel with a carry-on suitcase and get my boarding pass at the airport, but this time I couldn’t carry on my bag because I had just bought a new bottle of moisturizer that was too large to make it through TSA inspections. I didn’t want them to throw away my new moisturizer, so I had to check my bag. I got my bag checked at curb but instead of a boarding pass, I was given a pass through TSA with directions to check in at the gate.

I was really unnerved by this so as I walked to the gate, I tapped on my nervousness about missing my flight. Specifically, I moved through the points (without a set up phrase) and tapped on: I’m not going to make it. I’m too late. I’m such an idiot for getting to the airport so late. I’m afraid I’ll miss my plane. I’ll never make it to the conference. I don’t want to miss the conference. It would really suck to miss the conference. All this fear and worry.

Once I felt calm again, I re-affirmed my intention to be in North Carolina that night. When I arrived at the gate, the attendant told me the flight was sold out and there were no seats available. But she took my name and told me to have a seat in the waiting area.

My stomach in knots, I tapped on: All this tension in my body. The knots in my stomach. The flight is already full. There’s no way I’ll make it on this flight. I’m such an idiot (again). I should have left sooner. I’m not going to make it. I’m going to miss my next flight and be stuck in Chicago. I hate missing flights! I can’t believe this! What a mess!

Once I cleared my fear of missing the flight again, I re-affirmed my intention to be in North Carolina that night. During the 10-15 minutes that I sat at the gate, I watched all the other passengers board the plane.

My stomach clenched in fear a few times and I tapped on: I’m really going to miss this flight. That means I’ll miss my connecting flight. I don’t want to be stuck in Chicago. I don’t want to miss this flight! Tapping doesn’t work! I really want to get on this plane! My nervousness abated again and I re-affirmed my intention to be in North Carolina that night.

Every time fear or doubt came up I tapped on those feelings until they diminished and I could really feel connected to my intention. When the gate area was empty, the attendant called me up to the podium and gave me a boarding pass. I boarded the plane and got the last available seat on the whole plane!

As she closed the doors behind me, the employee who scanned my ticket mentioned to her trainee that they should clear the area because two people with boarding passes were going to arrive in a minute and not get on the plane – and they were going to be mad!

I made it on the plane, got on my connecting flight and I arrived in North Carolina that night. I spent 3 days at a fantastic conference and I didn’t miss one bit of it.

So, here are the steps to use EFT to manifest your intention:

  1. Set a clear Intention.
  2. Use EFT to clear fear and doubt whenever they come up by simply tapping on the sensations in your body and/or the thoughts and feelings you are having.
  3. Re-state your Intention.

Since my happy arrival in North Carolina that night several years ago, I have used this simple system to manifest all kinds of things. I share my system with my clients and they also use this simple system in their daily lives.

What are you creating in your life? What fears and doubts are you clearing with EFT? Please share your experience in the comments below.

And remember, the moral of the story is: accentuate the positive, eliminate the negative, and latch on to your intention!

I’m relatively new to EFT or ”tapping’, Cara and it was my curiosity to find a way to get to energy blockages faster that inspired me to research the subject. Indeed using EFT helps to alleviate negative feelings which in turn raises our vibration level and helps to manifest our intentions. I’m still in learning mode but can see the difference that it is making in my life.

Exactly, Vatsala! EFT is great for all kinds of things – from bee stings to PTSD to just managing your emotions and reactions. I’m so glad you found EFT and it is working for you!

This rocks! I, like Vatsala, am fairly new to EFT but use it and recommend it whenever possible. Never thought about grouping it with intention…gonna give that a try! Thank you for sharing this nugget! Blessings….
