3 Things I’m In Love With Right Now

Just a quick note, a little bit more on the personal side today. 😉

I want to share 3 things that are bringing me joy in my life that I thought you might enjoy, too. (See that word play there?)

1) Spirit Walker – Messages from the Future
I am re-reading this book and enjoying it even more than the first time I read it 5 years ago. Written by anthropologist Hank Wesselman, Spiritwalker is the story of 2 men living thousands of years apart with a sacred connection to each other. What began as the author’s vivid dreams transformed into conscious shamanic journeys across time and space with profound messages and implications for all of humanity.

Why I recommend this book for animal communicators: reading about the relationship that one of the book’s heroes has with animals and nature is like taking a page from my own vision of the world that I want to live in. Nainoa has reverence, respect, and love for the natural world around him and the animals that he encounters. For me, he is a model of the best in humans and how good we could all be. Also, this is just a great story that is gripping form beginning to end. You will not want to put this book down.

2) Green Smoothies
I’ve always loved smoothies but my love was rekindled recently when I started enjoying what I call “Green-ya Coladas” – green pina coladas. The mixture of coconut milk, frozen pineapples and fresh spinach is just perfect! (I add  some vegan protein powder to make it a complete meal.)

My Basic Smoothie Recipe:
1 cup water or plant-based milk
1 tablespoon chia seeds
1 tablespoon protein powder
1 vegetable or 1 cup of veggies (spinach, kale, cauliflower, zucchini….)
1 cup frozen fruit (optional: 1 dropper of liquid stevia to sweeten it up a little)

I like to let the chia seeds sit in the liquid for 10-15 minutes before mixing everything together. It makes the smoothie smooth and thick and creamy (and SO delicious!).

Green-ya Colada Recipe:
1 cup liquid (1/2 cup full fat coconut mild, 1/2 cup almond milk)
1 tablespoon chia seeds
1 tablespoon protein powder
1 cup spinach (and maybe a little cauliflower or zucchini, too, if I’m in the mood)
1 cup frozen pineapple
Soak, Blend and Enjoy!

Why this is great for animal communicators: it’s delicious (especially if you already love pina coladas) and the mix of complex carbs, fat and protein creates steady blood sugar, which helps you stay emotionally clear and neutral –which is key for accessing your intuition and remaining a clear channel for anything that comes up in an AC session.

3) ROWING
Now, I don’t think that you should join a rowing team to become a better animal communicator, but I do think you should have an activity outside that gets you moving and brings you joy. What is that for you? Go do it!

By the way, that’s me in the pink. 😀

Why I recommend this for animal communicators: so many reasons!
First, JOY. Life is better when you have reliable sources of joy. Rowing does that for me. No matter what happens, rowing brings me joy. Hot, cold, windy, rainy, foggy – it doesn’t matter. I am in my joy.

Second, being out in nature activates your right brain, the part of your brain that is active during intuitive animal communication sessions. Each time you turn it on, you are strengthening that muscle and making it easier to turn on your right brain on demand, like when you want to communicate with an animals.

Third, balance. We are human beings, not human doings. We all need balance and play and fun in our lives.

Fourth, the animals! There are beavers, otters, eagles, minks, egrets, herons, coyotes, swallows, and tons of ducks and geese where I row. I am getting to know all these animals in different ways by being around them in nature on a regular basis. And every once in a while, I sneak in a little animal communication! Super fun!

Fifth, community. I belong to a club with almost 20 rowers, We talk, we laugh, we disagree, we commiserate, we go watch each other sing, buy each other’s jewelry – all the things you do with people you know and like and are involved with. Social interaction is an important part of optimal human health.

Sixth, exercise. It’s good for your body, your mind, your emotions, your soul. It doesn’t have to be intense or a lot, but our bodies are designed to move and we are healthier and happier on every level when we get outside and move around.

What brings you joy in your life? How can you have more of that? It might just help you be an even better animal communicator!

Get out there and BE YOU!

In JOY!
Cara
